- Having God in my life
- The time I had with my husband. The last four years of his life (and mine) were incredible. This is the time that I remember the most because we found each other again. I shall especially cherish those years.
- The wonderful experiences my children and grandchildren have shared with me.
- Hugs from my children/grandchildren and friends. Those hugs keep me going!
- Having my daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren living so close to me. This has truly been a blessing as I get to share all of their good times and have the privilege of helping them with the bad times.
- The job I have at the university (even though at times I'd like to scream!)
- Being blessed with wonderful pets over the years. Sam, my caring dog, was my best buddy and I lost her last year. She helped me get through Tom's death and I had 15 years of wonderful times with my dog Sam. Thank you God also for the numerous kitties that I've had over the years. They keep me from being lonely when I'm at home plus I'm always telling my friends/family of all the little "episodes/stories" of what these wonderful little pets have done now!
- My ability to create. Over the years I have crocheted, sewed, crafted and made numerous projects. My current project...creating quilts for my grandchildren...have kept me busy so those longs nights become special nights as I sew my heart out and make quilts with lots of love! Plus, I now have a long list of family and friends who have requested quilts and that's quite a compliment.
- My friends. We have all been through many challenges in our lives and each time, we have helped each other during our journeys giving each other comfort and advice plus just listening.
- Overcoming all of the challenges in life. I have survived through many sicknesses and tragedies and each time, I have become a stronger and more compassionate woman.
- All of the trips that I've taken with friends and family. They have been awesome and I can't wait to go to Ireland and Scotland on June 19th!
- My bathroom. My son-in-law made my bathroom into a spa and each night I thank God for letting him do this miracle of remodeling.
- My flower garden is my sanctuary. I wait in anticipation for spring to come so I can see the little shoots open and the glorious colors folding forth.
- The ability to walk. Every year my knees grow worse and every day I pray that God will enable me to walk without pain.
- A good glass of wine
- A good cup of tea
- Dark chocolate
- Dishwashers. I waited 25 years to get one and I am so thankful every time I load the dishwasher and don't have to wash each plate/cup by hand.
- Blogs so we can be in the 21st century and express our feelings.
- Sunsets and sunrises. God has truly made a perfect beginning/ending to our day (and birthdays)!
